Calpe by Tram Does Not Drop You on the Beach

Opdateret 2026 · Blanca Guide rejseguide

Calpe is on the tram. The beach is not at the platform. Treat line 9 as a town arrival, then walk, bus or taxi the last part.

1. Change at Benidorm onto L9

From Alicante-Luceros, line 1 ends the first leg at Benidorm. Calp is line 9 toward Dénia. Check the connection before you leave Luceros.

2. The station is inland

Calp station sits in Partida Estación, not on Arenal and not in the old-town lanes. Budget a walk, a local bus or a short taxi. Do not plan the swim as the step off the tram.

3. It is about once an hour

  • Line 9 is roughly hourly, not a city-metro frequency
  • Missing it costs about an hour
  • Read the board at Benidorm and again before you leave Calp

Bottom line

L1 to Benidorm, L9 to Calp, then a separate hop to the sand. The tram gets you to the town. It does not get you onto the beach.
