Ifach is Calpe’s icon — and a bottleneck once day visitors arrive. The tip is timing and honesty about fitness, not a secret side path that does not exist.

1. Start at opening or late afternoon

Morning entry beats midday heat and coach groups. Late afternoon can work in shoulder season; midsummer midday is the worst combination of heat and traffic on the trail.

2. Respect the tunnel section

• The tunnel and upper scramble are where queues and nerves meet — turn back early if unsure
• Wear proper shoes; flip-flops turn a short climb into a rescue story
• Carry water even for ‘just to the tunnel’ — shade is limited on the rock

3. Park once near the park entrance

Use the designated approaches rather than dumping the car on residential streets. A short walk from a legal spot beats a ticket after the hike.
