Licence and IDP
EU licences are widely accepted. Many non-EU visitors should carry an International Driving Permit alongside the national licence — confirm with your rental company.
Mandatory kit and road rules
Cars should carry a reflective vest and warning triangle. Dip headlights in tunnels, watch speed cameras, and never drink and drive (low limits).
Tolls, ZBEs and fuel
AP-7 is toll; A-7 often parallels it. Some city centres have low-emission zones — check signage if you drive into Alicante or Valencia day trips.
