Puig Campana From Finestrat, With a Turnaround

Puig Campana looks close from the Benidorm coast. The usual walk does not start on that ring road. It starts at a fountain above Finestrat, and it is a real hike.

1. Park at Font del Molí

The recreational area of Font del Molí is the trailhead, a short drive above Finestrat on the CV-7672. Fill bottles at the drinking spout. Not every pipe in the picnic area is for drinking.

2. The circular is already the day

• PR-CV 289 loops the mountain from the fountain and returns there
• Coll del Pouet is a path junction with the view
• The summit block above that is steep rock, not the lighthouse path at Albir

3. Turn around late morning in the heat

In warm months start early. If the last section looks like more than you came for, turn at the pass. The fountain at the start is not enough water for a slow midday descent.

Bottom line

Font del Molí, PR-CV 289, dawn if it is hot. Turn at Coll del Pouet unless you specifically came for the rocky top.
