Blanca Guide
Orihuela Old Town as Its Own Day, Not a Torrevieja Errand
Oppdatert 2026 · Blanca Guide reiseguide
Orihuela sits inland from the southern Costa Blanca resorts. The cathedral and old streets are the reason to go. Mixing it with a beach morning usually short-changes both.
1. Give it a morning block
Budget a proper half-day. Cathedral, lanes and a lunch stop fill the time. A forty-minute glance from the Torrevieja ring road is not the visit.
2. Park once at the edge of the centre
- Use a signed car park near the historic core
- Do not hunt for spaces beside the cathedral doors
- The centre is for walking once you leave the car
3. Keep the salt lakes separate
Torrevieja’s pink lakes are a different outing. Stacking both in one hot afternoon means tired driving and a rushed cathedral. Pick one focus per day.
Bottom line
Orihuela is an inland historic-centre day. Park once, walk, eat, leave. Save Torrevieja’s coast and lakes for their own plan.
